Dentures and Partial Dentures
Many patients avoid dentures because they believe dentures are an outdated method of replacing missing teeth. Our patients will be happy to learn that modern dentures provide an affordable and reliable way to replace missing teeth. Today's dentures have a number of advanced options to improve both fit and function.
What Has Changed with Modern Dentures?
Say goodbye to bulky denture teeth. Unlike dentures of just a generation or two ago, dentures look more natural than ever before. Rather than generic denture teeth, modern dentures feature many shapes, sizes and colours that look natural with any skin tone, facial structure and age.
Removable Complete (Full) Dentures
Complete dentures provide a comprehensive and affordable solution for edentulous patients (those missing all of their teeth). Because having confidence in your smile is important, our experienced denture dentists, Ricardo Paez, Dr Maria Paez, Dr Neville Bo or Dr Jonathan Michael, will discuss the details of your ideal smile.
Same-Day Immediate Dentures
Immediate dentures eliminate the need for patients to go without teeth during the healing process. The idea of leaving home without any teeth at all can feel isolating and cause patients to feel self-conscious. With immediate dentures, you will have your teeth on the same day as your extractions.
Regular adjustments to the immediate denture will improve their fit until it’s time to create the final dentures.
Dental Implant-Retained Dentures
For patients who want additional stability for their dentures, dental implant dentures combine the modern benefits of dental implants with the affordability and convenience of dentures.
After an implant evaluation to determine if adequate bone is present, our dentists will place four to six dental implants per arch to create a locking mechanism for dentures. Patients who have a history of falling or shifting dentures often opt for this innovative solution to avoid potentially embarrassing denture mishaps. Our athletic clients also appreciate that they can maintain their healthy lifestyles without concern.
Removable Partial Dentures for Complete Smiles
A few missing teeth may warrant the need for a partial denture to improve dietary choices and the aesthetics of the smile. Partial dentures use small clasps to attach to natural teeth.
Partial dentures are available in various base materials – chromium, acrylic and flexible. Our dentists will discuss which option will best suit your needs at your denture consultation in our Swansea or New Lambton dental clinics.
As with complete dentures, natural-looking results are a priority and give our patients the confidence to smile broadly, even with dentures.
Patients with dentures are encouraged to maintain active maintenance appointments. Our dentists will inspect dentures for damage, make adjustments to fit and perform an oral exam to ensure that both the bone and gum are healthy.
